Look At This Life-Saving Cat of the Day: An 8-year-old, 21-pound moggy named Pudding is being credited with saving its owner’s life — mere hours after he was adopted from the local humane society shelter.
Amy Jung of Sturgeon Bay wasn’t intending on adopting a cat when she visited the Door County Humane Society earlier this month, but that’s what she ended up doing.
In fact, she brought home two cats that day: Pudding and Wimsy.
Around 11 PM that night, Jung, a diabetic, suffered a seizure while asleep in her bed. Pudding, she says, jumped on her chest and started swatting and biting her face, “anything he could to pull me out of it.”
Eventually she did come to, and cried out to her son Ethan for help. After it became clear that her calls were going unanswered, Pudding again rushed to Jung’s rescue, sprinting toward Ethan’s room, and jumping on his chest to alert him to his mother’s emergency.
Jung says Pudding prevented her untimely demise that night. “If something or someone hadn’t pulled me out of that, I wouldn’t be here,” she told Gannett Wisconsin Media.
According to Jung, Pudding isn’t taking anymore chances, and has started sitting at her feet and meowing whenever her blood glucose level falls too low.
